Overview

LipidIQ ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Short version: Calculators run entirely on-device — no patient data is ever collected or stored. The AI Assistant sends your chat messages to Anthropic's API; those messages are not stored by LipidIQ.

Information We Do NOT Collect

LipidIQ does not collect, transmit, or store:

Patient identifiers, names, dates of birth, or contact information
Clinical values entered into any calculator or tool
Device identifiers, IP addresses, or location data
Health or medical records of any kind
Usage analytics, crash reports, or telemetry
Apple Health / HealthKit data
Photos, contacts, or any other device data

How the App Works

All calculations — PREVENT risk estimation, statin recommendations, DLCN FH scoring, and LDL-C estimation — are computed entirely on-device. No account is required for these features.

The AI Assistant (available via paid subscription) sends your chat messages to Anthropic's Claude API over an encrypted connection to generate clinical responses. These messages are not stored by LipidIQ and are not retained after your session ends. Do not enter any patient-identifiable information into the AI chat.

Third-Party Services

LipidIQ uses the following services. We do not use advertising SDKs or behavioral analytics platforms.

Anthropic (AI Assistant): Chat messages are sent to Anthropic's Claude API for processing. Under Anthropic's API terms, your messages are not used to train their models. See anthropic.com/privacy.
RevenueCat (Subscriptions): In-app subscription management. RevenueCat may collect your App Store purchase receipt and an anonymous device identifier to verify subscription status. See revenuecat.com/privacy.
Apple App Store: Distribution platform. Apple may collect aggregate, non-identifiable usage statistics. See apple.com/legal/privacy.

External Links

The References tab contains links to external sites (PubMed, journal DOIs, acc.org). When you tap these you leave LipidIQ and are subject to those sites' privacy policies.

Children's Privacy

LipidIQ is intended solely for licensed healthcare professionals. It is not directed at anyone under 18.

HIPAA Notice

LipidIQ does not collect, store, or transmit patient information and does not act as a covered entity under HIPAA. Clinicians remain responsible for patient confidentiality when using any clinical tool.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this policy, the new version will be posted at this URL with a revised effective date.
